Doing the Most Good
About us
The Salvation Army exists to meet human need wherever, whenever, and however we can. We serve the homeless, hungry, and poor of every ZIP code across Florida. To end poverty is to help end a host of related struggles: hunger, addiction, housing insecurity, mental illness, unemployment, educational voids, and various forms of abuse. Generation after generation, these interrelated issues persist. Through short- and long-term support, we strive to meet the needs of the whole person. We combat the symptoms of poverty with programs serving the body, mind, and soul, then look for the root issues causing them. It's a holistic approach that creates a lasting chance for millions of people each day. Mission Statement The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Giving takes an army, and we're thankful for that. 🇺🇸
Last week, our hearts were filled with thanks as we celebrated Thanksgiving with our incredible community—friends, family, volunteers, and generous donors. 🍁🙏 The Salvation Army Landmark Corps was among many of our congregations across the territory to host a Thanksgiving service followed by a potluck meal provided by its own members. The Salvation Army of Memphis & the Mid-South was generously joined by the Memphis Grizzlies family, as they served women and children during the Thanksgiving break. The Salvation Army Waco has been serving their community since 1891 and continued that last week, providing hot meals and prayers on Thanksgiving. The Charlotte Knights made The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte’s 10th annual Homer's Turkey Drive a success, bringing warmth and joy to many. The Salvation Army El Paso County witnessed over 1,000 Thanksgiving meals served, a true testament to the help from countless volunteers from across the community. Our incredible employees at the Divisional Headquarters in The Salvation Army Kentucky & Tennessee Division gathered in fellowship, as they continue to prepare and ready themselves to support the field in all they do. The Salvation Army in Fort Smith, AR served 300 meals for Thanksgiving and distributed winter coats, ensuring warmth in every hug. In The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida: Jacksonville, 515 Thanksgiving baskets found their way to hungry families, thanks to the support of volunteers, donors, and Casey Jones' "Miracle on the Hudson" turkey drive. We hope you were blessed and carry that on through the Christmas season to start the new year with gratitude as we continue to #LoveBeyond together. #Thanksgiving #Community #Grateful #TheSalvationArmy

EDS professionals were recently engaged in a disaster relief simulation at Florida Divisional Headquarters, broadcast by FOX13 Tampa Bay. As part of this drill, personnel practice setting up trailers containing beds, showers, and toilet facilities that they can take with them to the site of disasters, reducing the need to use hotels for evacuees and displaced residents.
