Fantastic article about Down Syndrome Regression Disorder… “If you brought your perfectly healthy teenage son or daughter in and they were not sleeping, not eating, catatonic and hallucinating, we would admit them to the hospital and do a full workup,” Santoro said. “And we weren’t doing that with individuals with Down syndrome.” https://lnkd.in/eqnvzZyU

Supporting individuals with Down syndrome to RISE to their full potential at all stages of their lives.
About us
Down Syndrome Association of Brevard, Inc. (DSAB) is a non-profit organization that originated with the passion of several moms and people who love someone with Down syndrome. As a small volunteer-based organization, the board members were originally comprised of local moms who were on the unexpected journey of Down syndrome led by some fantastic tour guides. This small board was able to reach many families and share their experiences, knowledge and most importantly welcome all the newest surprise tour guides. Our board of directors share the same values and passions as our creators, as we have welcomed business professionals, medical personnel, marketing executives and more. Through the growing success of our annual Brevard Buddy Walk ®, we officially welcomed our first Executive Director in 2021. In 2022, we added our annual Down for Derby Gala and Auction to not only maintain but increase services to our DSAB family. The core values, beliefs and passion of those that came before us remains and will always be the heart of DSAB. Our Vision To build a culture of respect, inclusion, support, and education in Brevard County where individuals with Down syndrome can RISE to their full potential at all stages of their lives. Our Mission To RESPECT the unique gifts of people with Down syndrome To INCLUDE individuals with Down syndrome in all aspects of our community To SUPPORT individuals with Down syndrome and their families To EDUCATE families, medical communities, government and local agencies
