Fear. Work. Joy. Like woven threads, these aspects are intertwined in the fabric of motherhood. Love weaves them together, helping us be brave, work hard and cherish beautiful moments along the way. Moms are stronger together. When one mom struggles and another steps up to offer encouragement and support, it changes the trajectory of a family — for generations. Angelee, Erin and Abby embody this, and we’re grateful they shared their stories this week. 🔗🔗🔗 ⬇️ For many moms, Sunday will be a day of love and joy, free of crisis. But not for all. Thousands of moms across Florida right now are struggling alone and need help. Please help us help these mothers. Better Together has many ways to serve as an individual or a family. 📌 Connect with us: https://bit.ly/b2gmore Need support? Call 239-470-2733 or visit https://bit.ly/BThlp #MothersDay #Mom

🌸 Mom. A series exploring motherhood. 🌸 A mother's joy is a mighty joy. It has to be. A daughter injured in a basketball game needs to know everything will be okay. A heartbroken son must learn that hurt doesn't last always. The void created by the loss of a father has to be filled. But sometimes, mothers need a mother's joy. When Better Together shared its mission at Abby Fuller's church, she looked at her husband Isaac to see if he also felt the call to help. For a while, Abby had "cried out to God" to learn if she was meant to have more children. She wasn't. Should they become foster parents? No. On that Sunday in church, Isaac felt the call to help too. "This is it," they said. After praying over their decision and completing screening, Abby, Isaac and their children, Noelle and Troy, became a host family. "Helping someone do something they can't do on their own is what brings me joy," Abby says of standing in the gap for the mothers that Better Together helps. Presently, Abby and the family are caring for 5-year-old twins Chrniyah and Janiyah, while Better Together helps their mother find work and housing. With their joy rooted in Christ, truth and the human dignity of every person, Abby and her family hope to continue sharing the gift of joy until mothers and their children are reunited in love. 🌸 Mom. A week-long series exploring motherhood. 🌸 Erin lives a different life now. The one she lived before was missing a meaningful piece. She found it at a Better Together job fair. But, she had to work to get there. Healing from a relationship and its end, Erin and her kids moved from New Jersey to Bonita Springs to live with her mother in February 2023. Erin gave her all to caring for Onyx and Lynx as she healed. The FGCU graduate walked dogs to earn money. On days when healing was hard, Erin leaned on her mother. Friends inspired her to keep moving forward. In time, Erin learned to stand tall again. Then in March of this year, the meaningful piece missing from Erin's life presented itself. "It was so magical. Everyone had this energy to help," Erin said of the job fair. She was hired on the spot by a nonprofit that helps underserved kids in Southwest Florida. The job aligns with Erin's dream of opening a nonprofit that helps women and kids. Though excited for her meaningful work, raising Onyx and Lynx to be loving, humble and gentle human beings is her greatest work effort. "I get to create their childhood. It's scary, so special, exhausting, but such a gift," Erin said while chasing butterflies in a park with Onyx and Lynx. (Moments & Story by @kinfay / @btogetherorg) #mom #mothersday

From heartfelt stories of resilience to inspiring speeches, the 2024 Doing Good Together reception in Jacksonville was nothing short of extraordinary. We’re grateful to our sponsors, Facility Automation Solutions and Kairos Digital, for their support—and to our volunteers and supporters who show up every day for families in Northeast Florida. It was our honor to recognize a few of our volunteers and supporters with the inaugural DOie awards. See who got a DOie and catch the evening’s moments in our blog and photo gallery: https://ow.ly/JlSf50RzMpO #DoingGoodTogether #NortheastFlorida #CommunityImpact

🌸 Mom. A week-long series exploring motherhood. 🌸 “Am I going to be a good mom if I decide to keep this child?” Angelee says of her first fear of motherhood. Despite its joy and love, being a mom comes with fear. Am I choosing the right food? The right school? The right church? Challenges like homelessness, unemployment or addiction, compound these fears. “I come from a family of dysfunction. I come from a family of addiction,” says Angelee, mom to Israel, Adonis and Addison. When her mother died on her couch, Angelee’s addiction worsened. She felt alone. Angelee was afraid her addiction would lead to her children being harmed. What would she do if someone hurt one of her boys? What if the state took them away? She reached out for help. Motherhood has its joys and its challenges. 🌸 Every day this week, we’re sharing a story of great love about moms who reached out to Better Together for support or a mom who reached out to help. Each story explores a key aspect of parenting: fear, work and joy. We fear for our children’s well-being. We work hard to provide them the best life possible. We take joy in the beautiful moments along the way. Threading through it all is love. Our CEO Megan Rose understands a mother’s journey and infuses her experiences into Better Together’s urgent drive to help families flourish. #MothersDay #Mom

What a blast! 🚀✨ Our volunteers celebrated #StarWarsDay at Cape Christian on Saturday, May the 4th be with you. Then on Sunday, the church invited us to share the mission of Better Together at all four services, and the response was humbling. We are so grateful for Cape Christian’s dedication to vulnerable children and families in Southwest Florida, and we’re thankful for their partnership. Together, we’re helping families flourish. #CommunityCare #BetterTogether
